Today’s modern vehicles are packed with control units and sensors that monitor your engine. The vehicle ECU (Engine control unit) monitors your engine via sensors that send information back to it. When the ECU detects that the information it recieves from a sensor is incorrect, the vehicle engine management light will illuminate.In order to understand which system is causing the fault you will need to have the vehicles ECU diagnosed by computer. In order to prevent further engine damage it is advised to have the problem diagnosed as soon as possible.
